Hand-me-down botanical prints

I had probably seen these botanical prints a thousand times before they were mine, and I might have overlooked them still if my mom hadn't off loaded them at my home. They were previously stored at the menagerie that is her home, and I'm lucky to have them free of charge at mine. We've yet to find a place for these beauties, but I think they'll wind up on a wall somewhere at our house.

Never deny a quality hand-me-down.

Little end table

So, this little end table represents a big success for my bottom line.

About six weeks ago, I stumbled upon it and about three other pieces of furniture (a buffet and two end tables.)  Total price tag: $300.

A little bit about the furniture: It was custom designed, solid wood, never-before used and imported from India. If your you'd like to know, that translates into affordable real-world furniture.

How'd we get such a good deal? Facebook marketplace. I connected with a seller there who was closing out a shop in an expensive part of town in one of the biggest cities in the state. Sometimes finding finds that work means buying from an individual with a side hustle, rather than turning to a store, be it an online store or a real, live store.

Gray Chair

Here's what you need to know: This little beauty retails for $450 or more; I purchased it for $75. How? Luck, mostly. I spotted a friend selling it on Facebook and I was the first to comment so she sold it to me.

Is there a drawback? Sure. It sits on a glider base that is visible, and it doesn't recline as my husband wishes it would. But for $75, we can live with a new-ish chair with nice lines and good color for little while.

Tips and tricks: Check Facebook frequently for steals like this one.
